This in-depth guide was developed in 2018 by The Morton Arboretum to assist private landowners to preserve and manage native oak woodlands, conserve wildlife habitat, and protect nature and the different plants and animals that are part of oak ecosystems. This guide will help many to protect and plant more oak trees on their properties or within their communities.

The report is accompanied by 26 appendices and a glossary, which include details and additional resources relevant to the Illinois region.
